Partial hospitalization/Day Treatment is a type of out-patient alcohol and drug rehabilitation program that is less than intensive out-patient and more intensive than normal out-patient rehabilitation. Partial Hospitalization Day Treatment is also tailored to clients who require intensive treatment for a co-occurring mental health disorder, but don't require 24 hour supervision and care. For a client who has completed inpatient treatment, a partial hospitalization day treatment plan in Gateway could be of help to them make the transition more easily into a drug or alcohol free lifestyle as a viable "step-down" option. Following partial hospitalization day treatment, the client could then transition into regular outpatient treatment.
When a client is in a partial hospitalization day treatment facility, they typically take part in services in the range of three to five days per week. It is similar to an in-patient program in many significant ways, including the fact that clients will get access tomental health professionals, physicians and nurses who can deal with the physical, emotional and psychological challenges they are trying to conquer. For at least four to six hrs on the days that clients participate in partial hospitalization day treatment, they will receive individual addiction therapy, attend group counseling sessions, psychotherapy sessions, get any needed medical care and address any of the mental health symptoms that trigger their drug addiction.
