Military Insurance - Alcohol and Drug Rehab Centers - Grand Junction, CO.

The military currently uses a military insurance known as Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families obtain health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard offers benefits for retirees of the military who are 60 years of age or older and their qualified family members. With Tricare Standard they go to any non-military health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay an annual deductible and coinsurance, as well as any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is an option available to Tricare Standard beneficiaries which provides access to non-military health care professionals within their provider network, with a reduced coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is offered to all active-duty members, retirees, and all eligible family members, and with this they can choose a primary care physician and obtain referrals to health care services that provide specialty care.

Through TRICARE, members of the military can obtain substance abuse treatment services in Grand Junction. This encompasses individual and group therapy including family therapy, detoxification, and other recovery services. They will need pre-authorization for treatment and there are likely to be some limitations. Military insurance covers both inpatient and outpatient, but stays for detox are restricted to 7 days. An inpatient or partial hospitalization following detoxification will only be authorized if it is a Tricare approved facility, and there are time limits as to how long military insurance carriers are permitted to remain in rehab. A 3-week inpatient stay per benefit period is usually allowed. In additional to this, there are 15 family therapy sessions and 60 group therapy sessions covered per benefit period, which take place on an outpatient basis. Family therapy is covered one after the active military member has completed prior rehabilitation services such as outpatient or inpatient treatment.
