Medicare consists of different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering various types of care.

It also pays for professional interventions.

Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an option for people who want supplemental coverage apart from what the other parts of Medicare have to offer. Individuals who have Part C may have more options available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D covers substance abuse related medications. Including medications used for withdrawal symptoms during detoxification as well as those used for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
