Military Insurance - Alcohol and Drug Treatment Programs - Springfield, CO.

The military currently uses a military insurance known as Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families receive health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard offers benefits for retirees of the military who are 60 or older and their qualified family members. With Tricare Standard they go to any non-military health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay an annual deductible and coinsurance, as well as any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is an option available for Tricare Standard beneficiaries which grants access to civilian health care providers within their provider network, with a discounted coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is offered to all active-duty members, retirees, and all eligible family members, and with this they can pick a primary doctor and get referrals to organizations that offer specialty care.

Through TRICARE, members of the military can obtain drug and alcohol treatment services in Springfield. This includes individual and group therapy including family therapy, detoxification, and other treatment services. They will require pre-authorization for services and there will most likely be some restrictions. Military insurance covers both outpatient and inpatient, but stays for detox are restricted to no more than 7 days. Partial hospitalization or impatient treatment following detoxification will only be authorized if it is an approved treatment center, and there are time restrictions as to how long military insurance carriers are permitted to remain in rehab. A 3-week inpatient stay per benefit period is commonly accepted. Additionally, there are 15 family therapy sessions and 60 group therapy sessions covered per benefit period, which take place on an outpatient basis. Family therapy is covered one after the active military member has completed other rehabilitation services such as outpatient or inpatient treatment.
