It too is taken on a daily basis, and costs approximately $450 monthly. Naltrexone is another drug taken in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other medications mentioned here it is an opiate blocker and isn't an opiate. There is an option to take this medication as a monthly shot, which is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, it prevents a person from getting high from opioids, and in turn lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily injection costs in the range of $1000 to $1200 per month.
