The military currently uses a military insurance known as Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families receive health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard provides insurance benefits for retirees of the military who are 60 years of age or older and their eligible family members. With Tricare Standard they have access to any non-military health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay yearly deductible and coinsurance, along with any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is available for Tricare Standard beneficiaries which allows access to civilian health care providers within their provider network, with a discounted coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is available to all active-duty members, retirees, and all qualified family members, and with this they can select a primary care physician and obtain referrals to health care services that offer specialty care.
Through TRICARE, military members can receive drug and alcohol rehabilitation services in Manchester. This encompasses detoxification, individual and group therapy including family therapy, and other various rehab services. They will need pre-authorization for treatment and there will most likely be some restrictions. Military insurance covers both outpatient and inpatient, but stays for detox are restricted to no more than 7 days.
