The armed forces currently uses a military insurance called Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families obtain health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard offers benefits for retired military who are 60 or older and their qualified family members. With Tricare Standard they go to any non-military health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay an annual deductible and coinsurance, in addition to any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is an option available for Tricare Standard beneficiaries which allows access to non-military health care professionals within their provider network, with a discounted coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is available to all active-duty members, retirees, and all eligible family members, and with this they can choose a primary doctor and obtain referrals to organizations that provide specialty care.
Through TRICARE, military members can obtain substance abuse treatment services in Milford. This encompasses detoxification, individual and group therapy including family therapy, and other various treatment services. They will require pre-authorization for treatment and there are likely to be some limitations.
