Military Insurance - Alcohol and Drug Treatment Facilities - Waterbury, CT.

The armed forces currently uses a military insurance called Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families receive health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard offers insurance benefits for retirees of the military who are 60 or older and their eligible family members. With Tricare Standard they have access to any non-military health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay an annual deductible and coinsurance, along with any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is available for Tricare Standard beneficiaries which allows access to civilian health care providers within their provider network, with a reduced coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is available to all active-duty members, retirees, and all eligible family members, and with this they can select a primary care physician and obtain referrals to organizations that provide specialty care.

By way of TRICARE, military members can obtain drug and alcohol rehabilitation services in Waterbury. This includes detoxification, individual and group therapy including family therapy, and other various rehabilitation services. They will need pre-authorization for services and there will most likely be some limitations. Military insurance pays for both inpatient and outpatient, but stays for detoxification are limited to no more than 7 days. An inpatient or partial hospitalization following detoxification will only be authorized if it is an approved facility, and there are time restrictions as to how long military members are permitted to remain in treatment. A 3-week inpatient stay per benefit period is usually permitted. In additional to this, there are 15 family therapy sessions and 60 group therapy sessions covered per benefit period, which occur on an outpatient basis. Family therapy is covered one after the active military member has completed prior treatment services such as outpatient or inpatient treatment.
