Military Insurance - Alcohol and Drug Treatment Facilities - Miami, FL.

The armed forces currently uses a military insurance known as Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families obtain health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard provides benefits for retirees of the military who are 60 years of age or older and their qualified family members. With Tricare Standard they have access to any non-military health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay an annual deductible and coinsurance, as well as any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is an option available to Tricare Standard beneficiaries which allows access to civilian health care providers within their provider network, with a reduced coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is available to all active-duty members, retirees, and all qualified family members, and with this they can select a primary care physician and obtain referrals to organizations that provide specialty care.

By way of TRICARE, members of the military can receive drug and alcohol rehabilitation services in Miami. This includes detoxification, individual and group therapy including family therapy, and other various substance abuse recovery services. They will require pre-authorization for treatment and there will most likely be some restrictions. Military insurance pays for both outpatient and inpatient, but inpatient services for detox are limited to no more than 7 days. Partial hospitalization or impatient treatment following detox will only be authorized if it is a Tricare approved facility, and there are time limits as to how long military members are allowed to remain in rehab. A 3-week inpatient stay per benefit period is usually permitted. In additional to this, there are 15 family therapy sessions and 60 group therapy sessions covered per benefit period, which take place on an outpatient basis. Family therapy is covered one after the active military member has completed other primary rehabilitation services such as outpatient or inpatient treatment.
