Military Insurance - Alcohol and Drug Rehab Facilities - Columbus, GA.

The armed forces currently uses a military insurance called Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families obtain health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard provides insurance benefits for retired military who are 60 years of age or older and their eligible family members. With Tricare Standard they have access to any non-military health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay an annual deductible and coinsurance, as well as any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is an option available for Tricare Standard beneficiaries which allows access to civilian health care providers within their provider network, with a discounted coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is available to all active-duty members, retirees, and all qualified family members, and with this they can choose a primary care physician and get referrals to health care services that provide specialty care.

Through TRICARE, members of the military can obtain drug and alcohol treatment services in Columbus. This includes detoxification, individual and group therapy including family therapy, and other recovery services. They will require pre-authorization for treatment and there will most likely be some limitations. Military insurance pays for both inpatient and outpatient, but stays for detox are limited to 7 days. An inpatient or partial hospitalization following detoxification will only be authorized if it is an approved treatment center, and there are time restrictions as to how long military members are permitted to remain in rehab. A 3-week inpatient stay per benefit period is usually allowed. In additional to this, there are 15 family therapy sessions and 60 group therapy sessions covered per benefit period, which take place on an outpatient basis. Family therapy is covered one after the active military member has completed other rehabilitation services such as outpatient or inpatient treatment.
