Medicare is a federal program that helps pay for health care for individuals living in the Unites States who are either disabled or 65 years of age or older. Medicare comes in different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering different forms of medical care.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D covers drug and alcohol addiction medications. Including medications used for drug and alcohol withdrawal and medications required for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
