Military Insurance - Alcohol and Drug Rehab Centers - Ames, IA.
The armed forces currently uses a military insurance called Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families receive health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard provides insurance benefits for retirees of the military who are 60 or older and their eligible family members. With Tricare Standard they receive services from any civilian health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay an annual deductible and coinsurance, as well as any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is an option available for Tricare Standard beneficiaries which allows access to civilian health care professionals within their provider network, with a reduced coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is available to all active-duty members, retirees, and all eligible family members, and with this they can select a primary doctor and get referrals to health care services that offer specialty care.
Through TRICARE, members of the military can obtain substance abuse rehabilitation services in Ames. This encompasses detoxification, individual and group therapy including family therapy, and other rehab services. They will need pre-authorization for services and there will most likely be some restrictions. Military insurance pays for both outpatient and inpatient, but stays for detox are limited to 7 days. Partial hospitalization or impatient treatment following detox will only be authorized if it is an approved facility, and there are time limits as to how long military members will be allowed to stay in rehab. A 3-week inpatient stay per benefit period is typically allowed. In additional to this, there are 60 group therapy sessions and 15 family therapy sessions covered per benefit period, which take place on an outpatient basis. Family therapy is covered one after the active military member has finished prior rehabilitation services such as inpatient or outpatient treatment.
