It is also taken daily, and is priced around $450 monthly. Naltrexone is an additional medication taken in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other medications mentioned here it's an opioid blocker and isn't an opiate. A person has the choice to take this medication as a monthly shot, and that is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, it prevents someone from getting high from opioids, and therefore lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily injection costs in the range of $1000 to $1200 per month.
