Medicare is a federal health insurance program which helps pay for health benefits for people living in the Unites States who are either disabled or 65 and older. Medicare comes in different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering different kinds of care.

People who have Part C can have more insurance benefits available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for substance abuse related medications. Including medications associated with treating drug and alcohol withdrawal and those used for maintenance therapy such as buprenorphine or methadone.
