Military Insurance - Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Facilities - Grand River, IA.

The military currently uses a military insurance known as Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families receive health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard offers benefits for retired military who are 60 years of age or older and their qualified family members. With Tricare Standard they go to any civilian health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay yearly deductible and coinsurance, along with any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is an option available for Tricare Standard beneficiaries which provides access to civilian health care providers within their provider network, with a discounted coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is available to all active-duty members, retirees, and all qualified family members, and with this they can select a primary doctor and get referrals to health care services that provide specialty care.

Through TRICARE, military members can obtain drug and alcohol rehabilitation services in Grand River. This includes individual and group therapy including family therapy, detoxification, and other substance abuse recovery services. They will require pre-authorization for treatment and there are likely to be some restrictions. Military insurance pays for both outpatient and inpatient, but stays for detoxification are restricted to no more than 7 days. Partial hospitalization or impatient treatment following detoxification will only be authorized if it is a Tricare approved treatment center, and there are time restrictions as to how long military members will be permitted to stay in treatment. A 3-week inpatient stay per benefit period is typically allowed. In additional to this, there are 60 group therapy sessions and 15 family therapy sessions covered per benefit period, which occur on an outpatient basis. Family therapy is covered one after the active military member has completed prior rehabilitation services such as inpatient or outpatient treatment.
