Medicare is a federal health insurance program which helps pay for health care for individuals living in the U.S. who are either disabled or 65 and older. For individuals who do have Medicare and need substance abuse treatment in Lenox, this program can cover certain rehabilitation programs and treatment services. Medicare comes in different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering different forms of treatment.
Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A pays for inpatient addiction rehabilitation, and up to 60 days in rehab without a co-pay but policy holders will be required to pay a deductible. Medicare only pays for a total of 190 days of inpatient care, as in during the person's lifetime.
Part B (Medical Insurance) ? Medicare Part B covers up to 80% of the fees for outpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation. This includes outpatient care, therapy/counseling, treatment for co-occurring mental health disorders such as anxiety disorders or depression and drugs dispensed by clinics. It also covers professional interventions.
Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an option for people who want additional health insurance in addition to Medicare Parts A, B, and D. Individuals who have Part C may have more options available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.
Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D covers drug and alcohol addiction medications. Including medications used for withdrawal symptoms during detoxification and medications required for maintenance therapy such as buprenorphine or methadone.
