The armed forces currently uses a military insurance known as Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families receive health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard provides insurance benefits for retirees of the military who are 60 or older and their qualified family members. With Tricare Standard they have access to any non-military health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay an annual deductible and coinsurance, along with any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is an option available to Tricare Standard beneficiaries which grants access to non-military health care providers within their provider network, with a discounted coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is available to all active-duty members, retirees, and all eligible family members, and with this they can select a primary doctor and obtain referrals to organizations that provide specialty care.

Through TRICARE, members of the military can obtain drug and alcohol rehabilitation services in Maharishi Vedic City. They will need pre-authorization for treatment and there are likely to be some restrictions. Military insurance pays for both inpatient and outpatient, but stays for detox are limited to no more than 7 days.
