Naltrexone is an additional drug taken in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other drugs mentioned it's an opioid blocker and isn't an opioid. A person has the choice to take this drug as a monthly shot, and that is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, it prevents someone from experience being high from opioids, and in turn lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily injection costs in the range of $1000 to $1200 a month.
