Medicare is a federal health insurance program which helps pay for medical healthcare services for individuals living in the U.S. who are either disabled or 65 years of age or older. For people who do have Medicare and need drug or alcohol recovery services in Alto Pass, this program can cover certain rehab programs and recovery services. Medicare consists of different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering different types of treatment.

Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A covers inpatient substance treatment, and up to 60 days in rehab without a co-pay but individuals will be required to pay a deductible. Medicare only covers 190 days of inpatient care total, this applies to the individual's lifetime.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for drug and alcohol addiction medications. Including medications used for drug and alcohol withdrawal and those required for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
