Medicare is a federal health insurance program that helps pay for health benefits for people living in the U.S. who are either disabled or 65 and older. For people that do have Medicare and need addiction recovery services in Cedar Point, Medicare can cover various recovery programs and treatment services. Medicare comes in different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering different forms of care.
Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A covers inpatient addiction rehabilitation, and up to 60 days in rehab without a co-pay but individuals will be required to pay a deductible. Medicare only pays for a total of 190 days of inpatient care, as in during the person's lifetime.
Part B (Medical Insurance) ? Medicare Part B pays up to 80% of the fees associated with outpatient substance abuse treatment. This includes outpatient services, therapy/counseling, treatment for co-occurring mental health disorders such as depression or anxiety and medications administered by clinics. It also pays for professional interventions.
Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an option for clients who want additional health insurance in addition to what the other parts of Medicare have to offer. Individuals who have Part C can have more options available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.
Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for substance abuse related medications. Including medications needed for withdrawal symptoms during detoxification and those required for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
