Medicare is a federal health insurance program that helps pay for medical healthcare services for individuals living in the U.S. who are either disabled or 65 years of age or older. For people who do have Medicare and require drug or alcohol rehabilitation in Erie, Medicare will cover certain recovery programs and recovery services. Medicare consists of different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering certain forms of medical care.

Individuals who have Part C may have more insurance benefits available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for drug and alcohol addiction medications. Including medications associated with treating drug and alcohol withdrawal as well as those required for maintenance therapy such as buprenorphine or methadone.
