Medicare is a federal program that helps pay for health benefits for individuals living in the U.S. who are either disabled or 65 and older. Medicare comes in different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering various kinds of medical care.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D covers substance abuse related medications. Including medications used for drug and alcohol withdrawal as well as those required for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
