Clients Referred from the Court - Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Programs - Oregon, IL.

Treatment clients referred from the court for drug rehabilitation are usually referred because they are being given a chance to receive treatment instead of jail time, other charges, fines, etc. While this is more prevalent among first time offenders, it can occur at any time such as while the defendant is being held in jail. There are various types of programs that offenders can be referred to, and it usually depends on which programs are attainable in Oregon and the type of substance they'll need treatment for.

There are treatment programs that work primarily with the criminal justice court system to administer to this explicit type of clientele, and are typically state or federally funded or are offered at no cost or very little cost to the client. There are also private drug and alcohol treatment programs that may be accepted by the court if there is a specific type of treatment that the person needs or desires that a state-funded facility can't provide. The defendant's legal representation can push for such options to the judge for permission. There are even substance abuse recovery programs that operate out of the jails and prisons themselves, where clients are sometimes in a better position for early release or other leniencies when participating in substance abuse rehab services while serving their time for a drug related offense or a DUI/DWI.
