Medicare is a federal health insurance program which helps pay for health benefits for individuals living in the U.S. who are either disabled or 65 and older. For individuals who do have Medicare and require drug or alcohol recovery services in Putnam, Medicare can cover certain rehab programs and recovery services. Medicare comes in different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering various types of treatment.

People who have Part C may have more insurance benefits available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for drug and alcohol addiction medications. Including medications associated with treating drug and alcohol withdrawal as well as those required for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
