Medicare is a federal program that helps pay for medical healthcare services for people living in the Unites States who are either disabled or 65 years of age or older. People who have Part C can have more insurance benefits available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for substance abuse related medications. Including medications used for drug and alcohol withdrawal as well as medications required for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
