Naltrexone is an additional med taken in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other drugs mentioned it is an opiate blocker and isn't an opiate. There is an option to take this drug as a monthly injection, which is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, it prevents a person from experience high feelings from opioids, and therefore lowers the risk associated with relapse.
