Military Insurance - Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Programs - Kokomo, IN.

The military currently uses a military insurance known as Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families obtain health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard provides benefits for retirees of the military who are 60 years of age or older and their qualified family members. With Tricare Standard they go to any civilian health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay an annual deductible and coinsurance, in addition to any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is available to Tricare Standard beneficiaries which allows access to non-military health care professionals within their provider network, with a discounted coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is offered to all active-duty members, retirees, and all qualified family members, and with this they can choose a primary care physician and obtain referrals to organizations that offer specialty care.

By way of TRICARE, members of the military can receive drug and alcohol rehabilitation services in Kokomo. This includes detoxification, individual and group therapy including family therapy, and other various rehabilitation services. They will require pre-authorization for treatment and there will most likely be some limitations. Military insurance covers both inpatient and outpatient, but stays for detoxification are restricted to 7 days. Partial hospitalization or impatient treatment following detox will only be authorized if it is an approved facility, and there are time limits as to how long military members will be allowed to remain in treatment. A 3-week inpatient stay per benefit period is usually allowed. Additionally, there are 15 family therapy sessions and 60 group therapy sessions covered per benefit period, which occur on an outpatient basis. Family therapy is covered one after the active military member has finished other primary rehabilitation services such as outpatient or inpatient treatment.
