It too is taken on a daily basis, and costs approximately $450 monthly. Naltrexone is an additional med taken in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other medications aforementioned it is an opiate blocker and isn't an opioid. There is an option to take this medication as a monthly shot, and that is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, it prevents an individual from experience high feelings from opioids, and therefore lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily shot costs in the range of $1000 to $1200 per month.
