Partial hospitalization/Day Treatment is a type of outpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation program which is less than intensive out-patient and more intensive than normal outpatient rehabilitation. Partial Hospitalization Day Treatment is also designed to help clients who need intensive treatment for a co-occurring mental health disorder, but don't require 24 hour intervention and care. For a person who has finished inpatient treatment, a partial hospitalization day treatment plan in New Washington could help them make the transition more easily into a sober lifestyle as a viable "step-down" option. After partial hospitalization day treatment, the client could then transition over to regular outpatient treatment.
When a person is in a partial hospitalization day treatment program, they commonly take part in services in the range of three to five days per week. It is very much like an inpatient program in many significant ways, including the fact that people will have access tonurses, physicians, and mental health professionals who can deal with the psychological, emotional, and physical issues they are trying to overcome. For at least 4-6 hours on the days that individuals participate in partial hospitalization day treatment, the clients will receive individual addiction therapy, attend group counseling sessions, psychotherapy sessions, get any necessary medical care and address any of the mental health problems that trigger their alcohol and drug addiction.
