Partial hospitalization/Day Treatment is a type of out-patient substance abuse rehab program that is just below intensive outpatient and more intensive than regular out-patient rehabilitation. Partial Hospitalization Day Treatment is also designed to help people who may need intense rehab for a dual-diagnosis disorder, but don't require 24 hour supervision and care. For someone who has completed inpatient rehab, a partial hospitalization day treatment plan in St. Meinrad could help them transition more easily into a drug or alcohol free lifestyle as a viable "step-down" option. After partial hospitalization day treatment, the client could then phase over to regular outpatient care.
When someone is in a partial hospitalization day treatment facility, they typically participate in services anywhere from 3-5 days a week. It is very much like an inpatient treatment program in many significant ways, including the fact that people will have access tonurses, physicians, and mental health professionals who can address the psychological, emotional, and physical issues they are trying to conquer. For at least four to six hrs on the days that individuals attend partial hospitalization day treatment, they will get one-on-one addiction therapy, attend group counseling sessions, psychotherapy sessions, receive any needed medical care and address any of the mental health issues that trigger their drug and alcohol addiction.
