It too is taken daily, and costs about $450 monthly. Naltrexone is another medication used in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other drugs mentioned here it's an opioid blocker and is not an opiate. There is an option to take this medication as a monthly injection, which is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, the drug prevents someone from getting high from opioids, and therefore lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily shot costs in the range of $1000 to $1200 /month.
