There are both outpatient and inpatient drug treatment, but there are some types of outpatient drug rehab in Peru from which to choose. Typical outpatient treatment is not invasive and clients can usually participate in counseling and therapy a few times a week. Comprehensive outpatient rehabs provide counseling and therapy much like normal outpatient, but on a more accelerated schedule that also accommodates work and family life.
An outpatient drug and alcohol treatment type referred to as Day Treatment or Partial Hospitalization is the most intensive type of outpatient rehab out there. Individuals can still return home or to a sober living facility at the end of each day, but will spend the majority of the day involved in outpatient treatment services. Day treatment and partial hospitalization outpatient drug or alcohol rehab is ideal for clients who have recently finished an inpatient program, but still need to maintain a robust support system while becoming more comfortable with living sober. These rehabs also tend to offer a broader spectrum of services that normal outpatient may not offer, including alternative therapies, medication management, and dual-diagnosis treatment.
It isn't uncommon for clients in outpatient alcohol or drug treatment or after rehab in outpatient drug and alcohol treatment to have a relapse. In these situations inpatient treatment would ideally be the next logical step.
