Medicare is a federal program that helps pay for health care for individuals living in the U.S. who are either disabled or 65 and older. Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for substance abuse related medications. Including medications needed for withdrawal symptoms during detoxification as well as medications used for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
