The armed forces currently uses a military insurance called Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families receive health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard provides insurance benefits for retirees of the military who are 60 years of age or older and their qualified family members. With Tricare Standard they go to any civilian health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay yearly deductible and coinsurance, along with any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is available to Tricare Standard beneficiaries which grants access to civilian health care professionals within their provider network, with a reduced coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is available to all active-duty members, retirees, and all eligible family members, and with this they can choose a primary doctor and obtain referrals to health care services that provide specialty care.
Through TRICARE, members of the military can receive substance abuse treatment services in Ville Platte. This includes detoxification, individual and group therapy including family therapy, and other rehab services. They will need pre-authorization for treatment and there will most likely be some restrictions. Military insurance pays for both outpatient and inpatient, but inpatient services for detoxification are restricted to no more than 7 days. An inpatient or partial hospitalization following detox will only be authorized if it is a Tricare approved treatment center, and there are time limits as to how long military insurance carriers will be permitted to remain in rehab.
