Naltrexone is an additional drug used in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other drugs mentioned it's an opiate blocker and isn't an opioid. There is an option to take this medication as a monthly injection, and that is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, the drug prevents a person from experience high feelings from opioids, and therefore lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily injection costs anywhere from $1000 to $1200 a month.
