Military Insurance - Alcohol and Drug Treatment Centers - Newton Highlands, MA.

The armed forces currently uses a military insurance called Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families obtain health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard offers insurance benefits for retired military who are 60 or older and their eligible family members. With Tricare Standard they go to any civilian health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay an annual deductible and coinsurance, in addition to any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is available to Tricare Standard beneficiaries which allows access to civilian health care professionals within their provider network, with a discounted coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is offered to all active-duty members, retirees, and all eligible family members, and with this they can choose a primary doctor and get referrals to health care services that provide specialty care.

By way of TRICARE, military members can obtain drug and alcohol rehabilitation services in Newton Highlands. This includes detoxification, individual and group therapy including family therapy, and other rehab services. They will need pre-authorization for services and there will most likely be some restrictions. Military insurance covers both outpatient and inpatient, but inpatient services for detoxification are restricted to no more than 7 days. An inpatient or partial hospitalization following detoxification will only be authorized if it is an approved treatment center, and there are time limits as to how long military insurance carriers are permitted to stay in treatment. A 3-week inpatient stay per benefit period is commonly permitted. In additional to this, there are 60 group therapy sessions and 15 family therapy sessions covered per benefit period, which take place on an outpatient basis. Family therapy is covered one after the active military member has finished other rehabilitation services such as inpatient or outpatient treatment.
