DWI Clients Only - Alcohol and Drug Rehab Centers - DHS, MD.

There are programs offered for DWI clients only, due to the nature of their crime and the requirement to satisfy specific obligations deemed by the legal system. If you've been charged with a non-violent drug related offense, it is very likely that you may be granted the opportunity to go to rehabilitation as opposed to other penalties such as jail time. In most states, the alternatives to jail are rehab programs which include alcohol classes, group meetings and therapy such as Alcoholics Anonymous and in some cases community service. Some states allow people to take part in the above sentences and upon complying with certain conditions are even allowed to drive their vehicle with a monitoring device installed in their car. There are treatment facilities that are inpatient and specifically treat DWI clients. This will usually be something that would be decided upon by the judge and usually proposed as an option by your lawyer, if you are suffering with alcoholism and it is your first offense.

Addiction recovery facilities in DHS that treat DWI clients only follow the guidelines set forth by the courts and help clients comply with all the demands of their sentence and/or probation/parole. In most cases offenders will have to plead guilty to their charge, and will be regularly tested for drug and alcohol use, have to make restitution if there are any victims involved, and are required to make frequent appearances and check in with the courts, their probation/parole officer, etc. This sounds like a lot, but it is better than spending up to two years in jail.
