Naltrexone is an additional medication used in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other drugs mentioned here it's an opioid blocker and is not an opiate. There is an option to take this medication as a monthly shot, and that is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, the drug prevents someone from experience high feelings from opioids, and in turn lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily shot costs anywhere from $1000 to $1200 monthly.
