Medicare - Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Programs - Canaan, ME.

Medicare is a federal program that helps pay for health benefits for individuals living in the Unites States who are either disabled or 65 years of age or older. For people that do have Medicare and require drug or alcohol rehab in Canaan, this program may pay for certain rehabilitation programs and treatment services. Medicare consists of different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering different types of medical care.

Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A covers inpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation, and up to 60 days in treatment without a co-pay but individuals will be required to pay a deductible. Medicare only covers 190 days of inpatient care total, as in during the individual's lifetime.

Part B (Medical Insurance) ? Medicare Part B covers up to 80% of the fees associated with outpatient substance abuse rehab. This includes outpatient care, therapy, treatment for co-occurring mental health disorders such as anxiety disorders or depression and medications administered by clinics. It also pays for professional intervention services.

Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an alternative for clients who want supplemental coverage in addition to what the other parts of Medicare have to offer. People who have Part C may have more options available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D covers drug and alcohol addiction medications. Including medications used for drug and alcohol withdrawal and medications required for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
