Medicare is a federal program that helps pay for health care for individuals living in the U.S. who are either disabled or 65 and older. For individuals that do have Medicare and need drug or alcohol rehab in Hope, this program will cover certain rehabilitation programs and treatment services. Medicare consists of different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering certain kinds of medical care.

Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A covers inpatient substance rehabilitation, and up to 60 days in treatment without a co-pay but policy holders will have to pay a deductible. Medicare only pays for a total of 190 days of inpatient care, this applies to the person's lifetime.

Part B (Medical Insurance) ? Medicare Part B pays up to 80% of the expenses for outpatient drug and alcohol rehab. This includes outpatient care, therapy, treatment for co-occurring mental health disorders such as anxiety disorders or depression and medications dispensed by clinics. It also pays for professional intervention services.

Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an option for individuals who want additional coverage aside from what the other parts of Medicare have to offer. People who have Part C can have more insurance benefits available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for substance abuse related medications. Including medications associated with treating withdrawal symptoms during detoxification and those used for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
