Medicare is a federal program which helps pay for health benefits for individuals living in the Unites States who are either disabled or 65 years of age or older. Medicare consists of different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering different kinds of care.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for substance abuse related medications. Including medications used for drug and alcohol withdrawal as well as those used for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
