Medicare - Drug and Alcohol Rehab Centers - Southport, ME.

Medicare is a federal health insurance program which helps pay for health care for individuals living in the U.S. who are either disabled or 65 years of age or older. For individuals that do have Medicare and require substance abuse treatment in Southport, this program may pay for various rehab programs and treatment services. Medicare consists of different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering different forms of medical care.

Part A (Insurance for Hospital Stays) - Medicare Part A pays for inpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation, and up to 60 days in treatment without a co-pay but individuals will have to pay a deductible. Medicare only covers a total of 190 days of inpatient care, this applies to the individual's lifetime.

Part B (Medical Insurance) ? Medicare Part B pays up to 80% of the costs associated with outpatient substance abuse rehab. This includes outpatient care, therapy/counseling, treatment for co-occurring mental health disorders such as depression or anxiety and drugs dispensed by clinics. It also covers professional interventions.

Part C (Medicare-approved Private Insurance) Medicare Part D is an alternative for people who want supplemental coverage apart from Medicare Parts A, B, and D. Individuals who have Part C may have more options available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D covers substance abuse related medications. Including medications used for drug and alcohol withdrawal and medications used for maintenance therapy such as buprenorphine or methadone.
