Medicare is a federal health insurance program that helps pay for medical healthcare services for people living in the U.S. who are either disabled or 65 and older. Medicare consists of different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering certain forms of treatment.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for drug and alcohol addiction medications. Including medications used for drug and alcohol withdrawal and those used for maintenance therapy such as methadone or buprenorphine.
