Partial hospitalization/Day Treatment is a type of out-patient substance abuse rehabilitation program which is just below intensive outpatient and more intensive than normal out-patient rehab. Partial Hospitalization Day Treatment is also designed to help people who need intensive rehab for a co-occurring mental health disorder, but do not require around the clock supervision and care. For a client who has completed inpatient rehabilitation, a partial hospitalization day treatment plan in Ann Arbor could be of help to them make the transition more easily into a drug-free lifestyle as a "step-down" option. Following partial hospitalization day treatment, the client could then transition over to regular outpatient care.
When a person is in a partial hospitalization day treatment center, they typically take part in services anywhere from 3-5 days per week. It is similar to an in-patient program in many significant ways, including the fact that individuals will get access tonurses, physicians, and mental health professionals who can address the psychological, emotional, and physical issues they are trying to overcome. For at least 4-6 hours on the days that individuals participate in partial hospitalization day treatment, they will receive individual addiction therapy, psychotherapy services, participate in group counseling, get any needed medical care and deal with any of the mental health symptoms that are triggering their drug and alcohol addiction.
