Medicare is a federal health insurance program that helps pay for health care for people living in the U.S. who are either disabled or 65 years of age or older. For individuals who do have Medicare and need drug or alcohol treatment in Oxford, this program may cover certain recovery programs and treatment services. Medicare consists of different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering various types of care.

Individuals who have Part C can have more options available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D covers substance abuse related medications. Including medications associated with treating withdrawal symptoms during detoxification as well as those required for maintenance therapy such as buprenorphine or methadone.
