Partial hospitalization/Day Treatment is a type of outpatient alcohol and drug rehabilitation program that is just below intensive out-patient and more intensive than regular outpatient rehab. Partial Hospitalization Day Treatment is also designed to help individuals who require intense rehabilitation for a dual-diagnosis disorder, but don't need 24 hour supervision and treatment. For a person who has completed inpatient rehab, a partial hospitalization day treatment plan in Sandusky could help them transition more easily into a drug-free way of life as a "step-down" option. Following partial hospitalization day treatment, the person could then phase into regular out-patient treatment.
When someone is in a partial hospitalization day treatment program, they typically participate in services anywhere from 3-5 days a week. It is similar to an in-patient treatment program in many significant ways, including the fact that people will have access tonurses, physicians, and mental health professionals who can address the physical, emotional and psychological challenges they are trying to conquer. For at least four to six hours on the days that clients participate in partial hospitalization day treatment, the clients will get individual addiction therapy, attend group counseling sessions, psychotherapy sessions, get any necessary medical care and address any of the mental health issues that trigger their alcohol and drug addiction.
