Military Insurance - Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Programs - Southfield, MI.

The armed forces currently uses a military insurance known as Tricare to help veterans, active military members and their families obtain health benefits. There is Tricare Prime, Tricare Standard, and Tricare Extra. Tricare Standard offers benefits for retirees of the military who are 60 or older and their qualified family members. With Tricare Standard they receive services from any civilian health care provider that is payable under Tricare, but also pay yearly deductible and coinsurance, along with any out-of-pocket expenses. Tricare Extra is available for Tricare Standard beneficiaries which allows access to non-military health care providers within their provider network, with a reduced coinsurance amount. Tricare Prime is available to all active-duty members, retirees, and all eligible family members, and with this they can pick a primary care physician and obtain referrals to organizations that provide specialty care.

Through TRICARE, military members can receive drug and alcohol rehabilitation services in Southfield. This includes individual and group therapy including family therapy, detoxification, and other treatment services. They will require pre-authorization for treatment and there are likely to be some restrictions. Military insurance covers both outpatient and inpatient, but inpatient services for detoxification are limited to no more than 7 days. Partial hospitalization or impatient treatment following detoxification will only be authorized if it is a Tricare approved treatment center, and there are time limits as to how long military members are permitted to stay in rehab. A 3-week inpatient stay per benefit period is typically allowed. In additional to this, there are 15 family therapy sessions and 60 group therapy sessions covered per benefit period, which occur on an outpatient basis. Family therapy is covered one after the active military member has completed prior rehabilitation services such as inpatient or outpatient treatment.
