When someone in Spring Arbor needs substance abuse treatment and doesn't have health insurance or the funds to pay for the recovery program in full, the Access to Recovery Voucher is an alternative to look into. ATR is a federally-funded plan which makes it possible for individuals to access treatment facilities and support including inpatient programs, regular outpatient, intensive outpatient, counseling, continuing care, recovery and life coaching, skills building, vocational training, and transportation assistance. The ATR grant program allows those individuals with vouchers to acquire rehabilitation and recovery support services for substance use disorders at the provider of their choice. To be eligible for ATR clients must fulfill certain criteria, including: 1) must be 18 years or older, 2) have a history of substance abuse and addiction, 3) have a yearly income that is below 200% of the Federal poverty level, and 4) reside in the counties or jurisdictions that provide ATR.
Individuals interested in the Access to Recovery Voucher can contact ATR Service Coordinators in their area. If someone's initial choice of treatment or facility isn't working out, they can work with their coordinator to find one that is and that accepts the ATR.
