Medicare is a federal program which helps pay for medical healthcare services for individuals living in the Unites States who are either disabled or 65 and older. Medicare comes in different "Parts", with Parts A-D covering different forms of medical care.

People who have Part C may have more options available to them, but out-of-pocket costs and coverage is different and may be more expensive.

Part D (Prescription Insurance) Medicare Part D pays for substance abuse related medications. Including medications needed for drug and alcohol withdrawal and medications required for maintenance therapy such as buprenorphine or methadone.
