Naltrexone is another medication used in opioid maintenance therapy, but unlike the other medications mentioned it's an opiate blocker and is not an opiate. A person has the choice to take this drug as a monthly shot, and that is called Vivitrol. As an opioid blocker, it prevents someone from experience being high from opioids, and therefore lowers the risk associated with relapse. This daily injection costs in the range of $1000 to $1200 a month.
